About

Haley has been working in the self help and therapy space for over 12 years. With a passion for making a difference and a desire to see a change in how therapy is delivered, Healing with Haley was born.

Healing with Haley is about providing therapy how, when and where people need it. Clinical sterile offices aren't always the best and most inviting environment to make big changes and sometimes may even make heighten emotions worse. Haley will see you at your house, online, at a cafe or go for a walk with you. However you want your therapy session to look it can. It's about healing you, how you need and want to be healed.

Haley has formal qualifications in psychology, sociology, community services, youth work, and doula services. She's well versed and here to assist.

Haley's passion to enter the field stem from her own upbringing and experiences attempting to gain help as a teenager and not finding the right fit or environment that worked for a teenager that didn't feel clinical.

Haley is a mother of 3 children with their own diverse needs, and has navigated many of her own internal battles that have come with motherhood. Bringing her professional and personal experiences together Haley is here to provide you with holistic support in a way that suits you and your lifestyle.

Years of Experience

Don't wait.
The time will never be just right.

Certain lived experiences through my childhood. I grew up in a broken family home like many Australian children. I had my own mental health battles and tried seeking help from a few different avenues. What I found was that none of the professionals I engaged with had a warm and welcoming environment, their offices were sterile and uninviting. Even their personas didn’t come across as open and engaging towards a young person, which in turn made it very hard to want to express myself and get the help I needed.

Once I completed high school I decided that there was a gap in this industry and I wanted to make a difference. I went on first of all to study youth work at TAFE and started working in youth centres to better understand what would be the ideal surroundings and person for a young person to open up to. I then furthered this education by completing a double degree in psychology and social science, completing post graduate level qualifications in the industry and receiving faculty and university medals for my research.

During my studies I continued to work and still do in the youth space. With over 12 years experience working with young people, I have come to learn that the most open and frank conversations don’t happen in the office. They happen on the phone, on a walk, on the couch, or anywhere that particular young person feels comfortable.

Over the years my passions and interests in helping people heal have evolved and broadened. Since having children myself and entering motherhood, I have come to have a keen passion in helping women through this transitional period of life. Antenatal and postnatal care again is quite clinical and sterile for many women. I decided to further my studies and train as a Doula to ensure I was well versed in birth before and after care of women on top of my therapist skill set. Whilst also enhancing my passion for photographing life’s joyful moments so that I could add birth photography to my repertoire. Therefore creating a holistic service for women where they can have antenatal care and counselling, doula birth support and photography, as well as, postnatal counselling and care all with the same service provider. Not only is it holistic care, but it’s not in a sterile doctors office, it’s taking the same approach I use with young people and healing where and when suits the mother: at home, at a cafe, on a walk or on a couch.
